We are happy to announce that full protocol translation is now supported.
In particular, the second protocol generation, starting from version 2026-07-28, shifted towards statelessness, and initialize was replaced with server/discover. The Multi Round-Trip Requests (MRTR) concept was introduced to replace stateful sessions, which changed how elicitations work.
As of today, Meandr now supports the following versions of the MCP protocol:
- 2024-11-05
- 2025-03-26
- 2025-06-18
- 2025-11-25
- 2026-07-28
and makes sure your agents and MCP servers use the latest version they support, handling the translation. This means that you no longer have to worry about compatibility.
